Wish me luck!
Today's my house move. If this is my last post, you'll know I'm lost in a vortex of removals.
If not, my next post will probably come from either a living room or a bedroom soothed by the rushing sound of the river immediately below. A sound I've often sought out when backpacking, and find wonderful to sleep to. Hopefully start to make up for a week of stress and 4-hour nights packing, sorting, arranging, worrying ...

Good luck!
I found moving quite stressful - how did I manage to cram so much stuff into a one bedroom flat ?

Best wishes for the move. My last one was over thirty years ago, and I hope I don't have to organise another one.

Well done, and good luck with the whole manoeuvre. You've chosen a nice day for it!
Don't lose the bottle opener. I hate to see a grown man cry.

Like the kettle, it should be one of the last items to be put in the van.

Re: Wish me luck!
Thanks all for the sentiments.
Just checking back in. Surrounded by boxes, have made inroads into one or two of the most important, including the wherewithal to make a cuppa tea. Most important box to find was the one with my tools in. Have an invitation to eat elsewhere this evening, which'll save having to contemplate a takeaway while far too knackered to shop&cook. Loving the sound of the river and a wide open door to the balcony. Can also put faces to two of the new neighbours. Oh, and my 4G 'net connection seems to have no problem with big thick stone walls!
On the downside, the front door needs attention, the plumbing needs attention, the boiler needs replacing (but my surveyor already told me that), and I urgently need to put up a soap dish in the shower. I expect those are just the first of a longer list of things that'll need fixing.

Dear UncleEbenezer
I have read with pleasure many of your posts in the past and have the greatest respect for you.
I sincerely hope you enjoy your new home.
I have no idea of your age or the state of your health but;
when I think of you laying in bed listening to the rushing sound of water
I think to myself I hope you have got your plumbing sorted out because if you are anything like me you are going to be up and down all night going to the the loo.
So yes, by all means I wish you luck.
