Another reason I limit the use of debit cards and contactless in particular.
How long before these card readers are available on Ebay and the software hacked?

Well it's been around for over a decade with (as far as I can see) no major issue with fraud, so seems to be at least as secure as other bank payment methods.

Maybe it is, but it's also a personal thing, and I have rather strict policies on privacy and data protection.

It might not be major fraud but it's very easy to steal money with contactless cards. My father-in-law's card was stolen as he lay dying in hospital and it wasn't discovered until the next statement was received. Lots of ~£20 purchases all around town. All repaid by the bank now so the cost socialised to all of us customers and shareholders.

Earlier today I fell. And before I hit the concrete someone caught me. Lucky them. How fortunate they were to rescue me. All their good luck. Of course I didn't need to be saved. I was in complete control.
