Unless you are over the age of 50 , it's unlikely you have heard of this comedian.

The only reason that he came to mind is that whenever my Mrs calls me when she leaves work, her voice breaks up on my phone.

After the 19th (or something) time that this happened tonight, I said 'Jesus Christ, you sound like Norman Collier.'

'Huh?'

'I'll explain when you get home'.

Norman Collier made a career out of pretending that his microphone wasn't working. But bloody hell, he was good at it.

I'm guessing this video is 40 years old - I really don't know. But you only need to watch the forty seconds. Don't forget that his routine was long before mobile phones.
