Re: Hey up bud
Ah, the lack of a you-familiar in the English language. Made up for in slang.
Lancashire - Chuck. Including Liverpool surely. Cilla always used chuck.
USA - buddy
Australia - Mate.
I had a very posh aunt who used "darling" for the singular and "people" as the plural.

Re: Hey up bud
1970s Birmingham: "Our kid". Used to be used only for children and siblings, but often extended to include just about anybody you liked.
2019 Watford: "Oi, you...." Oh, how I miss the place, not.
BJ
Glasgow: I recall doing a four day course with a weegie called Cameron - a great big bruiser of a guy. On the penultimate evening, after seven or eight whiskies, or maybe eleven, he confided that he wasn't called Cameron at all, he was actually a James.
Why the adopted name, I asked? He explained that if you were in a Glasgow pub and somebody called out "hey Jimmy", it was your cue to make a quick exit before the knuckle sandwich landed.

Re: Hey up bud
Forest of Dean greeting is "Ow bist thou, old but?", alternatively "Ow bist gettin' on, old butty?"
Also "Ow's thee mother off for soap?" to which the reply is "Up to her (armpits)* in lather". *Substitute alternative parts of the anatomy, if required.
When going out for the evening, "Hast thou got thee fern ticket?"
Local knowledge may be required.
