Have you had it?
Have you exhibited symptoms and think that it may be covid-19? I appreciate that this poll is not very scientific and we do not know what proportion of infections are asymptomatic but I am hoping for some interesting results.
I have enabled re-voting so you can update your vote if you get ill.
Please keep general discussion to the coronavirus thread, viewtopic.php?f=29&t=22218 .

Re: Have you had it?
I don't think you should do it by percentage: that makes it much harder to answer and plays to all sorts of psychological traits.
How about (ticking my own option as I go):
[ ] Yes, I've had (or have) it, confirmed by testing.
[ ] I think I've had (or have) it, but I haven't been tested.
[*] I've had (or have) a lurgy that could be a mild/moderate case of it.
[ ] Nope, all clear here.
I think I shall tick your under 25% option, on the grounds that the last test stats I saw showed one in six people tested (presumably therefore likely cases) actually had it.
[edit to add a fifth option]
[ ] I had a suspected case and was tested, but the test was negative.

Re: Have you had it?
Absolutely no idea. Last weekend I had a slight cough, prickly eyes, a bit of slight dizziness, but absolutely no raised temperatures. I've been keeping myself strictly at home for the last three weeks, ever since I spent a whole Saturday in hospital, having some MRI and CT scans done.At the time, I was a bit concerned that not a single staffer was wearing any kind of mask. (And only one patient, who was unconscious on a passing stretcher. Riiiiight..... )
Indeed, everyone in the hospital was assuring me that there was no need for a mask - including the radiography receptionist who told me she was immunocompromised, so if she didn't need one, then neither did I. Three weeks on, I wonder how that breezy self-assurance looks in retrospect?

Re: Have you had it?
I saw the topic title "have you had it?" and was going to answer "not since the coronavirus scare" but that doesn't seem to be an option on the poll

Re: Have you had it?
So far this year no sign of any kind of cold etc. However, the two things I have been keeping very much in mind wrt COVID-19 are my age and especially this, from September 2019 (although happened in 2018):
viewtopic.php?p=251531#p251531
That was the most frightening 'cold'(?) I ever experienced. Indeed, I had never before been so frightened by any cold or illness. It isn't usual for a mere cold(?) to make you start to feel you may not make it. Apparent impending suffocation doesn't feel a lot of fun.
Although this was obviously before COVID-19, in retrospect some of its effects on me at the time sound alarmingly like the effects of the current virus. I don't want a repeat performance.

Re: Have you had it?
Six weeks or so ago, two thirds of Fools answered with a clear No. Of those who might have had it, another 70% said Probably No.
Any changes since then?

No change in my response.
So I took the median percentage of having had it in each group, multiplied by the number in that group, and summed the result = 5.8. So on this scientific study with 59 participants, that looks like a probable infection rate of 9.8%. I shudder to think how wide the error bars should be on this observation.

You would appear to have picked up some more voters since you posted as above.
Now at 60 votes but how one ensures all Fools have seen the poll I don't know, other than potentially spamming all boards with cross posts.
I know for sure some don't even spot polls, which are not immediately obvious when one arrives at the OP, as quite often people pile in with replies that aren't always needed if they have voted.
If one looks here viewtopic.php?f=29&t=22792#p297990 one doesn't immediately notice there is a Poll above it, although the OP does make it clear in the narrative. That's why I also mention a Poll when I submit a Poll, such as here viewtopic.php?p=137624#p137624, which commenced Please vote in the Poll above.
I haven't changed my answer but it was good of the OP to leave that option open.

Re: Have you had it?
I think I had it but wasn't tested. Had mild/moderate symptoms for a week and a half and self isolated for two weeks. Not pleasant at all, can understand why could be fatal to those with underlying conditions.

Try faq.php#f2r3 and I’d be interested in the number of genuine votes you’d get in your poll.

To be even more morbid - there's no 'option' for those who did have it, but have since died.
For myself, I have not had any kind of cold so far this year. I had a large filling done before lockdown and was considering how lucky it was I had had it done; unfortunately, while using a tooth pick to clean my teeth I pulled it out. For some time things were OK until I developed tooth ache a few days ago. Some self administered dentistry seems to have worked for now and the pain has gone. However it is hardly a satisfactory situation.

Re: Have you had it?
Family and I still virus free. Not surprising considering the rate of infection here in W Sussex is 1 in 674 according to the BBC figures.

Re: Have you had it?
No change here, although im now 95% certain that adult son had it and probably grandson. That was before the poll but the addition of loss of taste and smell to other symptoms he had make it pretty conclusive.

Re: Have you had it?
I know small polls can easily be misleading but the figures here are quite surprising.
4 certain case and 2 fairly sure, so call it 5 cases of the virus out of 88 LFs who voted.
That's a tad less that 1 in 18.
The UK national average is about 1 in 240.
I think I'll buy an anorak.

I doubt that we Snuggers represent a typical slice of the national demographic, though. Older and more likely to get noticeable symptoms.I have no idea whether I've had the virus - I had a sore throat and light cough for a week or so back in March, and I'm quite short of energy now, but no raised temperature at any time, and my taste buds have been on top form throughout. Hay fever's a more probable explanation.
It still brings me up a bit short, though, to reflect that, statistically, if I walked into a typical supermarket, there'd probably be somebody in there with the virus.Think I'll stick to home deliveries for a while longer.

Is it?
I don't think anyone knows. Though I do recollect hearing Prof Ferguson on t'wireless at the time the official count was 20k, saying the real count could be as high as two million (1 in 30 of UK). Seemed intuitively plausible. After all, even back then we could point to a well-known (albeit utterly unrepresentative) sample with a higher incidence - namely the cabinet.

More affluent, more able than average to self-isolate effectively.

Statistically no such thing. Total numbers are not the same as current infections, and the latter are not merely less likely than average to be out-and-about, but also far from evenly distributed.
