No, you're missing the point.
The purpose of this is to rescue people who have injured themselves flying jet suits.

Re: Easy way to climb hills..
Mrs RS likes to watch reality medical TV shows, you know the thing, Emergency/ SOS /A & E /24 hour/ Ambulance /999/ Rescue!
The medical helicopter ones are interesting in that the helicopter often gets called out to places where it cannot physically land closer than a mile or so. We see scenes of the crew scrambling, the helicopter taking off, a quick flight towards the scene, followed by a few minutes circling around looking for the victim.
Ironically the victim is often only spotted due to the presence of surrounding ambulances and fire engines! Then the helicopter lands in a field and we watch scenes, strangely reminiscent of Anneka Rice, with the camera following (often slightly overweight and unfit) medics jogging with heavy bags the mile or so to the victim.
Once the victim is stabilised we then learn that the journey to the hospital will be twenty minutes quicker by air than by road so they spend five minutes getting the patient into the waiting ambulance, five minutes driving the patient to the air ambulance, five minutes transferring the patient to the air ambulance and five minutes preparing for take off.
Am I missing something here?

Yes. The TV production company won't be showing the "ones" where it is all straightforward, they land within a few metres, take off immediately etc. It's TV, only a selected, and then edited reality.
