Your fingers, your toes, your teeth even.

Long story - shortened as I know you lot don't have robust concentration spans  My bad.

I've bought an APAP machine to replace the CPAP machine given to me by the NHS. I will plug it in tonight and over the next week, if I am correct, my sleep will improve and I'll be a tad less ratty than I have been lately :ugeek: Can't wait for the NHS anymore. Just over-run with covid backlog still.

If I'm wrong (and the NHS are correct) I'm going to be £650 out of pocket and still tired. Bu99er

Yesterday was a busy day and I took some Modafinil to help me through. Consequently I didn't feel like sleep until 1am this morning (I took my 2nd Modafinil after 1pm which isn't a great idea but it was needed).

But ... always a but. I've had 6.5hrs sleep on my new APAP and I feel quite energised. Early days I know and I've got to wait a few more days but the initial signs are looking very promising. I need a lucky break from this sleepiness now. Twenty years will do me just fine

don't expect miracles on day 1 - sorry, night 1
but it's good to hear it sounds like a promising start
Good luck !

That's a bloody good job for a first night

Have you got an SPO2 monitor you can wear overnight? (even some of the cheap fitness trackers can be pretty useful)
- looking at that info can give you a good idea if you've set it up correctly (beyond just counting the time you've slept)

One of the few downsides of an APAP vs CPAP is that when they auto-titrate one of the measures they use is seeing an apneoa event; it basically tells it that the pressure needs to be higher
- you might not notice and hopefully after a few nights it will have found the right operating point

Good luck
