Which Wag Will Win?
Vardy's now finished her evidence, with a trembling lip and a tactful tear or two for the judge, and it's round 2 for Rooney tomorrow.
So what will be the outcome? My gut feeling is that RV will lose, but defamation cases are notoriously unpredictable.

Re: Which Wag Will Win?
My feeling also is that RV will lose.
What appear to be implausible explanations for non appearance of a crucial witness and text evidence going into Davy Jones' Locker don't help her case one bit.
Plus a propensity and long history of secretly selling stories and photographs to press.
Some of the cross examination on RV's texts yesterday must have been particularly painful for her team.
Assuming Coleen comes up to proof I expect the claim to follow the telephone when the judge delivers (what will probably be) a reserved judgement.
There will be talk of appeals and an unfair hearing by the loser and tales of mental health and much wailing and gnashing of teeth so we can expect it to run for a while yet.

Their precious little egos must be damaged
you struggle to find them on the BBC home page
and it fails to make the top 10 most read
(sob sob sob... but I'm important)

Half time: Vardy Amateur Actors 0 - Rooney Disunited FC 1
I suspect that in the last 10 minutes Wayne's World will get sent off for attacking the ref and VAA will equalise in the last minute - leading to extra time and massive cheers from Inner Temple XI supporters.

It's the gift that keeps on giving
Another instant classic quote from the trial was when Rooney’s barrister, David Sherborne, whilst cross-examining Vardy, observed that the would-be submarine phone “is now in Davy Jones’s locker”.
Quoth Vardy to the judge: “I’m sorry, I don’t know who Davy Jones is.”

Ah, I thought you were going to mention Peter Andre's* chipolata there, but that would be a bit tasteless wouldn't it?
* apparently some sort of entertainer.

Having posted this on the thread 'Wagatha Christie to end in tears' a day earlier, maybe CK you can advise me on my copyright protection? Have I a case against you and Mike4 (he also copied my original Monkees reference).

Re: Which Wag Will Win?
With potentially crucial evidence on a phone that was washed into the North Sea, a broken and disposed of computer and a key witness unable to appear it doesn't look good for RV. However, the law works in weird and allegedly wonderful ways meaning the only people to win (as usual) are the lawyers.

Re: Which Wag Will Win?
The only names I have heard of in this are Davy Jones (locker) and Davy Jones (Monkees). Sounds like they all deserve to lose and to be fleeced by the lawyers, as they will. Yawn!

I would be inclined to ask a different question. If Vardys PR assistant was leaking the stories, what is the appropriate outcome of the court case ?

Difficult to tell, but Rooney's reveal said "its......Rebekah Vardy's account" so not necessarily directly accusative of Vardy herself.

Yes but that is a fairly clear implication and might be deemed sufficient to repesent libel, unless CR can prove it is true.
So RV could win if the court does not believe that it was RV's account but merely the account of someone connected to RV in some way.

Hmm... if RV's account was registered in her name (one must assume this was done by her or at her instruction) AND previous posts there are written in the first person and appear to be from her AND there is no indication that the account was hijacked, I think she is on a big ££loser (but Dom Pérignons all round for her lawyers)
