Watching this on and off today, for the first time since...... well, maybe it's the first time.
Utterly bonkers, with incomprehensible choreography and astounding military precision.

Re: Trooping the Colour
Terrific. Takes me back to my childhood world of tin soldiers, where the Blues and Royals were always my favourites.
Nice to see such a large crowd gathering, but a shame that some of the Royals (apart from the ones understandably on the naughty step), were missing. And the Queen looked quite With-it" - though I think it was an excellent idea that she missed the Trooping of the Colour which would have drained her too much.
Pace yourself Ma'am!

Re: Trooping the Colour
The only bit I saw was near the beginning when an out of control horse nearly crashed into a carriage, but the cameras were then cut away.

Re: Trooping the Colour
Remember the Trooping of the Colour in 1981 when some nutter called Marcus Sarjeant fired six shots (later found to be blanks) at HM when she was riding past. He was thrown to the ground by policemen and extremely lucky not to have been shot himself by the Royal Protection chaps.
He got five years under the Treason Act. Of yore he would have been hanged drawn and quartered for attempted regicide - blanks or no blanks.
HM just checked her horse and carried on.
That's the spirit!
