Yes! That is what my "Yes I know..." was referring to. Hence the waiting for a possible timeout was the thing.

You can try dialling your own number. You should get "The number you called is busy" message. If not, the dialtone you got was almost certainly a recording

But it's true! I didn't say I had never received any (just very rarely) scam calls in the past. :)

I have previously described my last one several years ago on TLF. Funnily (or embarrassingly?) it was the scammer who groaned and hung up on me. :lol:
