It caught my eye only because I remembered that Trident was the subject of one of the 'Yes Prime Minster' episodes, which Wikipedia says ran 1986-88.
Nearly 40 years ago, and they still haven't figured out how to 'make it go'?

I think that next time they are going to put some little blue tablets in the fuel to see if that helps get it up

At £17m each it's probably the reason we can only afford one every 8 years. Better luck in 2032 eh! I did think that we could put the missiles on an aircraft carrier but they never leave port

If the report that it just 'plopped' back into the sea after launch are correct, then I wonder if its 'gravity' switch failed? Or the motor failed to ignite for some other reason.
