OK, but are the very pointy changes in direction 'cos it's a helicopter/quadcopter/similar or are they just artefacts of the plotting tech? Or something else altogether...?
I don't know either. The aircraft was a fixed wing (Diamond DA42 NG) and didn't do any such zigzags. The data should be GPS fixes that make their way via radio and the internet to my screen. Where the errors creep in is beyond me. C.

It was a "show" in the very broadest possible sense, but the aerobatics, whilst briefly present, were not dramatic.

I'd love to do that trip. Sadly not though, mind you Biggin Hill is (just) covered by the image. C.

Ah, well, if both Rochester and Biggin Hill are within it then ...

Would the southernmost tip reach the channel? Is it all over Kent or does it also go over Essex? And would the right angle on the right in the lower half be over Margate?

The southernmost tip does indeed reach the channel. Parts of it do go over Essex. Margate is off the map to the right. Biggin is covered by the black, but not within the loop.

There are three airfields involved in the flight, and then there is that white circle. I'll split the 2 points for the locations into four half points, one for each airfield and one for the white circle. Awarded to the first mentioner. :)

I still assume that Rochester is the origin, heading over Essex to about Harwich then back for an instrument landing at Manston. The final leg across the Channel and down the French cost, back to Dungeness and then home. Maybe the white circle is Tunbridge Wells?

Not a bad guess, sadly not the answer though. Kent is more in the right ball-park though. :)

Bottom bit Kent, the "neck" is the Thames estuary, top bit is Essex?

I think you should all get points for perseverance.

Terry, you get a half point for TW. Hal, you get a half point for Kent/Essex.

My next post will reveal all. It was my son's multi-engine instrument rating examination flight from yesterday. :)

Thanks for taking part, have a safe trip home. C.

You've licenced the Ordnance Survey data included for public sharing?

When I was involved in projects using UK map data (admittedly not recently), they were *very* protective!

p.s. What's the black spot on Tunbridge Wells?

It isn't Ordnance Survey data. The black spot is me, so to speak. C.

Try a full refetch. Ctrl-F5. I.e. hold down the Ctrl key and press F5. If that fails, can you see https://ukpilot.uk/exm.jpg ?
