Hi GS,

No, not my work unfortunately, but I agree that it's a fantastic new way to see these things.

I tried, but I couldn't find the author's website last night, but I've just had another go and can now link to it here -

https://www.motionilluminated.com/prints

It's well worth taking a look around the above link - there's lots more great photography of a similar nature on there.

Great stuff, thanks. His work reminds me of Sam Haskins's apple period in the meticulous planning he must do and his mastery of his techniques and the technical aspects of the photography.

Whilst I'm always amazed by these types of images themselves, I also always marvel at the invested time and effort that must be spent on a per-good-image basis -

The 2018 National Geographic Travel Photographer of the Year results are out.

Here's a link to be able to see the winners and some of the top runners-up -

https://www.nationalgeographic.com/travel/contests/photographer-of-the-year-2018/gallery/winners-all/1/

Some of the entries are simply stunning, and are well worth reviewing over a quiet half-hour.

It's been piddlin' down here most of the day - so much for sunny sub tropical west Berkshire ...

I hope that this isn't too creepy to you, but I found this thread poking around through my google analytics and seeing traffic coming to my website from here. First off, thank you so much for posting my photo. It's awesome to see it being shared in so many random places around the world. And also, thank you for linking my website. This is a very new endeavor for me and I've only had the website up for a couple of months so it's cool to see that people are checking it out.

I figured that I would drop in to thank you and also to share my most recent photo. It's a day late, but I think the Christmas spirit is still alive. I hope everyone here had a very merry Christmas!

Hi GS,

This is the photographer from the long exposure climbing photos. I just posted an explanation of how I found this place and one of my recent photos. But, I just wanted to reach out and thank you as well. It's really awesome to see what people have to say about my work. And you had some amazing things to say. So, thank you very much for that!

I hope you are enjoying your holidays!

I'm so glad that you found your way here PhLuke - I think what you're doing with your climbing and photography skills is simply amazing, and it's great to be able to share some of these images with a wider audience here.

Best of luck with your future endeavours.

Fascinating Snorvey, thx, I didn't know such anti-tank defences remained in places in the UK. I understand there were similar along swathes of the UK coast at one time, presumably mainly the the east. But I can understand why in a Scottish forest there is little reason to remove them after all this time. Reminds me of pill-boxes which you used to see all over Herts, Essex, etc.
I remember holidaying on Norwegian coast back in the early/mid 70s and these concrete blocks were dotted along the coast of the Oslo Fjord.

I visited a farm in Normandy back in the 1960s, for lunch as it happens, because an experiment we were conducting at a glass works came to a premature end. The wife of the chef des mechaniciens produced a super cold salad at virtually no notice. After lunch, we went for a short walk in the woods where we were shown a V1 launching ramp. It's probably still there. Just a big lump of concrete.
