Not a picture, but a video, but I thought it would interest some here anyway.

Scientists seem to have discovered how birds fly when no-one is watching -

Isn't synchronicity a marvellous thing....

And now the question is, how do they know if somebody is watching, or not?

Some ultra-high-resolution pictures to have a zoom in/around -

Mont Blanc - http://www.in2white.com/

Buttons to the bottom-right of the screen for movement/zoom/full-screen etc....

(video here showing how detailed it is in close-up - http://i.imgur.com/UmvQFxY.gifv)

Andromeda Galaxy - https://www.spacetelescope.org/images/h ... /zoomable/

Buttons at the bottom of the screen for movement/zoom etc. - there's a smaller picture in the top left to show where your current view is in relation to the whole viewable area....

Enjoy!

Cheers,

Itsallaguess

Fantastic! I found 2 climbers in red jackets on the still - can't find them again though.
Thanks for that IAAG.

That’s cool, thanks, although it may have made you even cooler looking at it. ;)

I had fun clicking on points of interest but never found the green spot. Scares me to look at some of those crevices. No wonder we used a guide when ski-ing along the glacier. One of our group thought he knew better, I was forced to overtake such that I wasn’t following him, but at least we all made it down, including the idiot.

Select the 'Guided Tour' button (left hand button of buttons on the left bottom of screen) and the first zoom-in is to your guys.

Select 'Change Point of View' button (right hand button of buttons on the left bottom of screen). An overlay transparent box is projected on to a new panoramic view. Embeded behind this box are 3 green circles all of which are selectable. The box is closable.

If you zoom into the 'aerial bubble lift' and then scroll it to the right edge of your screen, a lone walker should now be just visible at the centre of your screen. Zoom in again, to the walker, and if you know him you will recognise him as the clarity is so good'

This was the panoramic view from the 'sejour' in the first home we bought in the Haute Savoie in 1989.

I used to both ski and dive, now really only solely the latter. But it amuses me that the same kind of public liabilities to those around them, exist in both sports.

Aerial images by drone photographer Johnny Miller reveal the dramatic divide between rich and poor in cities in South Africa, Mexico and India.

The photo looks like a sofa and a large flagpole/flag situated on a golf course amongst bunkers, with an airfield behind :D :?

And that's an odd-looking long, skinny aircraft with three vertical stabilisers. :)

Recced....but it looks like a ShopJob.....

It is such an amazing photo that I can't blame you for thinking that.

Here's a great video showing how this real-life photograph was captured -

Cunard has released a behind-the-scenes video of how it captured dramatic photographs of the master of Queen Mary 2, Captain Kevin Oprey, perched on the bulbous bow during the ship's world cruise for its 10th anniversary year.

Here's a tired young fox:
https://imgur.com/a/Dxfi3YT

It first appeared a couple of weeks ago, and it's now in almost permanent residence, regularly arriving around 3-4pm every day and staying for 5-6 hours. It just has a kip on our lawn, about 5m from the back door. Sometimes it's curled up with its nose under its tail, sometimes it's flat on its stomach with its chin on the ground, and sometimes it just chills out as in the picture.
It wakes up if we throw it a bit of food, then quickly resumes its kip.

It obviously feels very safe in our garden (as indeed it is), but I would have thought it would lie in a less exposed position under some shrubs.

--kiloran
P.S. it's just arrived while I was typing this, at 11:30am. Had a bit of a sniff around, then off to sleep

It'd be much more impressive if he did that while the ship was on the move
