If it is a sunset in October, it should be looking pretty much due West. But apart from that insight I have no clue.

So we've had 24 hours. Yes, as most people implicitly deduced, sunset in October is in the West, making that a north-facing stretch of coast. Some plausible guesses. I'd have made the Exmoor coast my first guess if it had been presented to me unknown.

The exact answer was posted by panamagold, who I suspect googled it. I was on the coast path, just west of Ilfracombe. There's a full daylight panorama pic from pretty-much exactly the same spot at https://www.google.com/maps/@51.2080016 ... 200!8i3600

What a super month its been in Central Scotland - lots of sunshine and not a drop of rain. The downside is that I have needed to water the garden. But an upside is that the muddy paths around the village are now brick hard, and it makes for easy walking. Its about a month since I last posted photographs from such a walk in a fold of ground at the foot of the Campsies - and I complained that welly boots were required. But today the mud had gone. And the gorse is in full bloom

Image

The lambs are now old enough to join up in groups to investigate their surroundings. This is a particularly spotty bunch. Any suggestions as to their parentage?

Image

And back along at the Alloch Dam the Hawthorn is now in green leaf. I was a bit surprised at the two swans on the water - a couple of weeks ago, one was sitting on the nest, so I had supposed that egg laying was underway. Maybe she was just checking out the accomodation.

My italic.

You could say I happened on the exact location directly via the horse's mouth. Yes, your good self. The photo shot, has after all been public knowledge and visible since Oct. 2009 where, in your blog, you state where the shot was taken and your future intended use for it. ;)
Nice image by the way.

Gone fishing. This heron seems to have established his ( assumed male ) territory. It has been there on a couple of occasions and we walk by on our daily walk.

( the photo was taken with a Moto G4 phone at full stretch..so it's a bit blurry).

Where is that (approximately)? I know some parts, as it's next county 'down' from home

Ah, I 'know of it', near Kiddy. I have only done the Wyre Forest in that area, and the SVR.
There looks to be a nice nature reserve east of the safari park - 'Rifle Range nature reserve' according to the map
(Odd feeling we've had this conversation before but my..erm...memory..isn't as...thingy...as it ...errm ? Eh? What?)

Let's see how many of you can identify this. Sorry about the poor quality, it was taken with 1973 technology.

Thank you. Do you know anything about the vessel?

It's HMS Caroline (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Caroline_(1914)), last survivor of the Battle of Jutland still afloat. It was used as a cadet training ship in Belfast until fairly recently, then refurbished as a maritime museum. My daughter worked on it briefly when it was just opened as a museum. I haven't been on it yet, that will have to wait for a while now.
