That amongst the cries of angst from the financial commentariat about the small decline in share prices that UK dividends in October were up 34.7% on last year.
Not only that but dividends in September were 44.6% up on last year.
Indeed, for the trailing 12 months to the end of October 2018 UK dividends are up 9.8% on the 12 months to end October 2017.

Share prices discount the future. They do not reflect the past or, as some would have it, the "bleedin' obvious".

Dated August 2018 so not very up to date and the market has changed a bit since then.

The dollar rate was helpful.
But I noticed that dividend cover has fallen a lot.
Someone's fiddling while Rome burns.

Maybe, but booking my dividends the other day, I noticed my year total for HSBC is down about 5%.
