Greene King Funds to IT's

#247670

Postby Darka » August 29th, 2019, 7:58 am

As some of you know I sold my Greene King shares once the offer was in, it was enough of a premium that I was happy to get rid of the shares there and then without waiting for any potential counter offer.

With the released funds, I increased my holdings of the following Investment Trusts:
  • Merchants Trust (MRCH)
  • City Of London (CTY)
  • Henderson Far East Income (HFEL)
  • Black Rock North American (BRNA)
I also bought a small holding in:
  • North American Income Trust (NAIT)
I also topped up:
  • British Land (BLND)
I still have some of the funds left over and am considering whether those should go into more IT's or into individual shares.

My total retirement funs is now:
  • 58% HYP
  • 28% IT's
  • 13% Private Pension (Will go into IT's at age 55)
  • 1% Cash (Will be increased to provide a reserve later on)

Yield v Risk.

There are quite a few ITs offering yields that are comparable to some individual HYP shares...SMDS, BAE Systems, AZN, GSK....Micro Focus.
