Individual share to investment trust transfer

Within the ISA income portfolio, sold British Telecom , the third HYP share I ever bought in 2008, and the proceeds went into a new holding in The Merchants Trust investment trust.
Many thanks to Itsallaguess and others for such useful info on these over the years.
Well into retirement now and the income (especially as it is tax-free) is a marvellous pension boost. All safely in ISAs now after gradual transfers in.
Now have, to my surprise, 10 ITs, 1 ETF and 17 individual shares in the usual suspects.

I am in very similar position, and currently favouring IT’s over individual HYP shares.

22 individual shares, 11 IT’s and 1 OEIC fund.

Similar position.
About 2/3 of my portfolio value is in 30 individual stocks, mostly high yield, usual suspects.
A couple of ETFs (gold, gold producers etc) and a Global 100 tracker.
15 ITs, for >25%, mostly high yield by value, but a handful of growth plays and targeted niches (biotechnology, far east etc)

Not selling individual stocks, but reinvesting dividends in my ISA into ITs.
Growing cash position in my SIPP, to create a buffer when I starting drawing income from it next year.

View transition to ITs as a long term shift to simplify the management of my portfolio for when I no longer have the interest, attention span or marbles to do anything more active.
