burford capital

i was fortunate to buy into this over two years ago at 170p , since when it has multi-bagged , to a recent high of 2000.

a recent placing at 1850 was well over subscribed.

the current SP is under 1600, and i added today at 1588.

even at this price , the p/e is under 20 which is not too dear given its record so far.

it is on AIM , market cap over 3b.

I wondered what it did.

You are indeed fortunate. I bought in at 305p (May 2016), and sold half last week at 1940p (nothing wrong with taking a bit of profit). One wonders if the good times are set to continue? Slight drop in Burford's price in the last week or so, but markets dropped generally at the same time. Another company (Vannin Capital, see below) may be about to muscle in on the action but the IC still had a buy (update) on Burford last week (5 Oct) at 1846p.

IC 14 Sept 2018: "Burford’s challenger": "Vannin plans IPO": Is wonder stock Burford Capital (BUR) about to have some competition for investors wanting to tap into the burgeoning litigation finance market? Vannin Capital has announced its intention to list on the main market of the London Stock Exchange, viathe issue of £70m in new share capital and a partial sale by existing shareholders.

That's good. Can only assume it's something like:
https://www.privateequitywire.co.uk/201 ... investment
I'm happy with the pick-up this morning (from DL at the time of writing: Burford Capital 1,528.00p +17.72%): I was thinking yesterday to take out a slice as the price has been falling recently, as would still make a handsome profit, but was too busy with other things to seriously look at it: glad I was busy with other things as would have been sick as a parrot to have sold some yesterday at around 1298p (last night's close) with the rise today.

I bought 10,000 at 307p in May 2016, and top-sliced 4,000 at 1940p in Sept 2018 (profit £65k, inside an ISA).
