Moved from Company Share news (FTSE 350) to Share Ideas as Chesnara is, it appears, not a FTSE 350 company. - Chris

I have no idea but a number of posters hold it in their HYP. The announcement is not allowed there according to MDW's guidance. The results should be somewhere.

Technically it's in the FTSE Small Cap. Chesnara has a market cap of approx £550m, which overlaps with the likes of Stobart (STOB) at the bottom of the FTSE 350.

It could end up in the FTSE 350, which then begs the question of how to deal with companies that change indices? Better perhaps to take a view that this board should drop the (FTSE 350) in favour of (All Share)... perhaps a discussion best carried on over at the biscuit bar?

A nice 3% increase in dividend - Dod has mentioned Chesnara (along with Phoenix) on many occasions and perhaps slow and steady does indeed win the race!

Cheers, OLTB.

I think this is a nice little company, similar to the much larger Phoenix. I must do a comparison sometime . I suspect that Phoenix will have a larger 'open book' after the deal with SLA but they both have a lot of zombie business.

I hold both.

You don't normally think of Aviva as a zombie insurer, but it's got a fair amount as a result of various acquisitions and mergers over the years. Rather more that Legal & General which has grown its businesses organically.
