Yes B, there was a 5 for 1 share split a week or two ago. I don't really agree with the management thought process to justify the split but my investment is still holding its own.

Have I missed the boat or do you think they are still worth buying?
Re Share Radio, I found it by tuning the Bose radio but it said it was unavailable. I'll have to wait for one of the sprogs to visit to sort out apps. etc.

Hey B,
I'm not qualified to give advice as I'm sure you'll guess. From my point of view they have a good yield, solid niche market, good cash holdings. I intend to hold for the mid-long term and will target a top up in the future when funds become available.
Of course please DYOR

Re: My portfolio with John Lee
Air Partner has been on a decent run recently, and I doubt that the split has had any influence on this one way or the other. I bought last summer at a split-adjusted price of 78p and we are now bouncing off 110 having received a couple of nice chunky dividends along the way. AIR seems to take paying its shareholders quite seriously. While by no means recession-proof, being brokers, I expect that the company will make money through the economic cycle and in the long run the total volume of private & charter flights is likely to increase.
Long may this continue.

A belated thank you for your post back in early February. I did some basic research and put them on my Watchlist. A Watchlist I fail to monitor regularly. Once I found the list again, when they had continued to hover around the 110p you mentioned, I thought it rude not to join you a month or so back.

I also had it on my list to watch/buy but got too embroiled in probate application etc. to do anything about it and my non-mechanical list got buried in the pile. Are they still worth buying? Must have a look, though now I have actually got the grant of administration I need to get on with getting in and paying out the monies. I need a 48 hr day.

What goes up, might come down but the following might be some good news from the IAG BA issue that has caused inconvenience and more to many (MrsRedSturgeon included).
From a press release (rather than an RNS):
"Enquiries for Air Partner's private jet services have been up 76% compared to a typical bank holiday weekend. ... ... we've also seen some clients booking ahead for business trips next week, as they're expecting the chaos to linger for a few days."
http://www.airpartner.com/globalassets/ ... -chaos.pdf
I note they said enquiries regarding the 76% but the shares appear to have risen by 10% or so today.

Re: My portfolio with John Lee
PD - As it happens, I did have a small dabble on Air P., later than you, and it was about the only share in my pfs which was up today. Long may it continue, though I don't suppose it will. On the other hand, I also had asmall punt on Petrofac, which I thought might be oversold, and that has gone the other way. I really should stick to ITs.

This dropped off my radar and since early 2017 has had another burst of action upwards. I wonder if John Lee still has it.

Well he does according to this:
https://www.parliament.uk/biographies/l ... fford/1132
If it doesn't go to the relevant bit click on register of interests.
I can't vouch for how often it gets updated but I presume it's more than annually, or next to never-ly
I miss his journalistic output, anyone know if it's freely available anywhere?

Thank you! I used to read his column in IC for many years, I have no idea why CTG of many shares mentioned caught my eye.

Re: My portfolio with John Lee
I didn't read his column, but I did talk to him over dinner from time to time - we ate in the same works dining room. One share we discussed was Vianet which according to his register of interests he still holds. I have sold some of mine. It still seems an interesting stock, but I like to take some profit from time to time. How they will do with Internet of Things remains to be seen, but they do seem to get some interest there. It is, however, not that liquid a stock.

Re: My portfolio with John Lee
He still writes from time to time in FT Money. I hold Vianet. I presume that must be because he mentioned them at some point. Doing OK. Also James Fisher & Sons, which was definitely one of his and has done very well for me, unlike Quarto. I had intended to buy Lok-n-store but never got round to it. Ditto Christie. Will have a look at them now. I think Victoria (carpets) was one of his as well and that has rocketed under new management. Glad I bought that one but am getting nervous it can't continue at that rate. I'd love to meet him. I think we share the same problem with our sprogs.

Write him a paper letter offering to buy him dinner in or near to the parliamentary estate. You never know. I haven't seem him since I was fired in 2015.

Does that matter ?
I'm not jesting. JH's suggestion is interesting and might get that meeting you say you'd like. What does gender have to do with it ?
