Monevator has flagged up a new means of retail investors accessing IPOs etc.
https://monevator.com/an-introduction-to-primarybid/
Any views on the mechanism?
Anything of interest coming up shortly?

I used Primary Bid a couple of times a couple of years ago because it was the only option for taking part in placings for companies I already held. It's not really of that much interest to me now because I'm not that interested in IPO's, and most of my spare cash is in ISA and SIPP accounts which means it is of no use for Primary Bid offers.

If you have a normal dealing account then you can transfer the shares to it once they are available in the Primary Bid account (the broker account is with Jarvis IM). This worked well with HL who were pretty efficient. This was a while ago and I accessed the offers and paid using the website. I looked at the app and didn't like it and they insist on using it these days. Tbh I will not be using them again and if there is a placing I'm interested in I will just buy in the market if I wish to maintain my holding as a % of the float.

All the best, Si

Timely question.
Primary Bid are offering Aberdeen Standard Eur Logis Inc at 110pps
Market price has declined to 110.74 as iii website offer
In have a portion and am tempted to top-up by 5625 shs (a convenient rounding no
via Pb that no would cost me £6187.5
via a market purchase with ii it would cost me (just now) about6260
What am i getting by a market buy -- a known price, a known quantity and into the place of my choosing.
If the price runs away PB is still on offer and I'd have to guage what I want to offer in aiming for what I want to achieve
The market price may even drop a bit...
