IPOs
Re: IPOs
read the RNS every day.
For AIM (at least) the advance notice is nearly always titled 'Schedule One'.
https://www.investegate.co.uk/index.aspx?limit=-1
today shows 'OnTheMarket plc'.
EXPECTED ADMISSION DATE:
9 February 2018

Asagi

Thanks for that, tho' it took me several attempts to see the obvious.
What I was really asking was how to find within TLF posters comments.
TMF used to have an area for upcoming IPOs to be discussed - I found it helpful.
Considering the interest in financial matters on the site generally, I am puzzled that new issues seem not to be more prominent and had supposed that I was looking in the wrong places. The changed climate of savings/investments is herding savers into the investment arenas and new issues seem to have a place but I would like to see more comment from the independent and more experienced.
Broker - SelfTrade - show offers but without advice (of course).
Individual posts seem to provide a more rounded view with more context.

You are correct that there is not much discussion of IPOs but TLF is still in a relatively early stage of development.
There has been the occasional mention of REIT IPOs and others but I've only found those comments by using the search function:
search.php?keywords=ipos
search.php?keywords=ipo
This board (Share ideas) would be as good a place as any to discuss this area, as you have done.

There hasn't been anything major for some time now, just a few new REITs and Investment Trusts.
Someone could just start a topic "IPOs" and all sightings or comments added to the thread.

This part of TLF is fine for IPO sightings, in the UK or wherever.

The list seems to be available to all without login. AJBell customers can subscribe within their accounts.

That's an interesting if eclectic list.
The "biggie" is presumably the Saudi oil company.

That is just the sort of comment that I had been hoping to find.
Maybe not an 'avoid' comment but sufficiently thought provoking that I back off.
I confess to being uneducated and should not be let loose with the money but the money has to be put to use and there's no one else hereabouts to do that.
I'm trying to get to the point where it more or less becomes self-sustaining - bit like Doris.
I observe that for every argument there is a counter point, as in new issues; always offered at a high point v always offered at a discount, so when considering it is always helpful to have someone else's thoughts

New issues are often offered at a discount and there's the saving to the buyer of stamp duty and commission as well. Against that, the advertising and promotion carries a cost.
