ps. Was in London last week. Just my luck it coincided with 'two months rain in three days' and right between two alleged sub-tropical weekends. That said, there were some epic highlights, the JOY of shopping in John Lewis, the brilliant historic pubs, real fish+chips, the really helpful people [you just have to ask], the AMAZING supermarkets. Can't wait to get home full-time in July!

From the link's map of those lost it seems possible. There are 3 or 4 on the outskirts on the lost map, which may not have been protected by Griffins. For example Temple Station is in the City of Westminster and Tower Hill is outwith. However, looking closer, isn't Moorgate Station in the City (the notes show the locations are approximate)?

Could be the boundaries changed?
Moorgate is north of London Wall, but that may mean nothing!

The Urban75 link includes a pic of the menu which reminds me of Monty Python's 'Spam egg and chips' sketch
I've only ever ordered food from one. I'd previously had the broad idea that they were strictly for cabbies only. Then later something prompted me to visit the one on Hanover Square; ie I'd learned the public can order food from the outside hatch. Decent basic 'food as fuel', and certainly relatively inexpensive.

- Funny isn't it, you can live in a place for years, decades, and still not have quite figured out cabbies shelters, City dragons and so on

The seven gates of the City of London are Ludgate , Newgate ,Aldersgate , Cripplegate , Moorgate , Bishopsgate and Aldgate. Real Londoners are born within the `Gates.
