I think Piccadilly Circus looked miles better back in the days when there were hundreds of lightbulbs and neon tubes. Some of the signs used to move too.
These days it's just big screens. Big deal.

Piccadilly was one of the first areas illuminated at night by gas powered street-lamps. Back in the UK and now in storage I have [among many others] a caricature, c1800-1840, of Londoners visiting Pall Mall to gaze in wonder at the illumination.
