A while back, I met a father & son who relocated to outer London from Leeds, they mentioned tunnelling & I assumed they meant Crossrail, when they said no I figured Super Sewer. No, they were here to work on the London Power Tunnel between Wandsworth & Wimbledon. I hadn't even been aware of it even though the Wimbledon tunnel headhouse is very close to the proposed site for the return of my beloved AFCWimbledon.

We have some amazing engineering projects going on beneath us in London.

Subterranean London and Tunnels Under London are both fascinating reads. It's amazing that they still find space to dig more tunnels in the Swiss cheese without collapsing everything!
