Fascinating! Thanks brightncheerful.

I did know quite a few of the things mentioned about the RI, but I didn't know it was originally the idea of Count Rumford.

"In a corridor inside the Institution today are various props used in Christmas lectures over the years."

That would be very interesting to see. (I wonder if they have a "Viewphone"? :) )

I would really like to visit and see Faraday's laboratory and equipment.
