The group stage of the tournament has 10 teams who play each other once. This is scheduled to be a total of 42 matches. I'm struggling to work out the maths. Why isn't it 9 + 8 + 7 + 6 ... = 42, ah, it is!
Edit: I have just realised that I have answered my own question! Just wasn't thinking straight.

Isn't 9 factorial....9x8x7x6 etc...., which would be wrong.
9+8+7+6 etc.... would be 45.
I'd have expected 45 matches (10 teams x 9 games each, 90, divided by 2 because each game has 2 teams), so not 42.
