Anyone care?
FA Cup Final - used to be just about the biggest day in football. A lesser event these days.
That said I'd be thrilled if CPFC won it.
As for today, do Utd have a chance?

Abu Dhabi v Dyson - maybe that's why it's no longer the event that it used to be.

Re: Anyone care?
Plenty of Manchester United fans do. I tried to get a ticket for the first time ever but no luck. I supposed I could have pretended to be a City fan since they rarely sell all of their tickets but I didn't fancy growing a moustache and carrying an inflatable banana.
It could get quite lively on and off the pitch. On the fan websites where I hang out there's been a lot of conversation about banners, "115" stickers (tens of thousands have been printed and hopefully will be plastered everywhere) and songs. My favourite is "You're just a bald Lance Armstrong"; short, snappy and very much to the point.
United are 5-1 which seems fair. If at least half of our team turns up on the day, and Martinez is fit, if we're organised like we were against [expletive deleted] [EDIT - the team otherwise known as "The Gunners"] and we can hit them on the break (we should have a lot of speed up front, particularly Hojlund and Garnacho), then it will be a lot closer than the pundits are saying. Or maybe it will be like the rest of the season where Ten Hag's wide open midfield gives the opposition free rein and Casemiro has to do the work of two players whereas he can barely manage one on a good day, in which case we'll be lucky to only lose by three goals.
Bear in mind that we did beat the Scousers in the quarter final when everyone had written us off. Amad's winning goal linked below:

If United win it will be the biggest story in sport for a few days, moreso if Ten Hag is then sacked. I wouldn't be surprised to see Luke Littler in the celebrations (he's got a ticket so he's off to Wembley instead of the European Tour tournament in The Netherlands).
If City win it will be like their treble; treated mostly with indifference because people know that they're a bunch of financially doped cheats (115 and counting). Remember that on the last day of the Premier League season the big story was Klopp's last match (Sky Sports had something like 70% more people watching Liverpool than City).

Dyson?
Anyway, c'mon Manchester!
And if anyone cares even less, c'mon Glasgow!

I tried to think who CP might be, and there are far too many Utds to narrow it down.
So I guess the answer is "no".
Back to the MotoGP then.

Re: Anyone care?
Fitting that the Utd goal was via a long ball, something City eschew. The poncing around in their own box is making City look vulnerable. Solid defence from Utd. They deserve their lead.

Re: Anyone care?
Prediction.... Utd will get to 3-0, lose that lead, survive a contentious offside and then win on penalties

Re: Anyone care?
Well that was a bit of a thriller. Squeaky bum time at the end and thankfully Mordor lost. Not just a good result for us, but for football with the cheats not prospering today. 2-1 and 0-115.
We're a much better side when Martinez plays and today showed what we've been missing all season. For once we didn't leave gaping holes in midfield, thanks to Mainoo and Amrabat (today we saw the Amrabat who was at the World Cup).
Roy Keane was right about Haaland. World class in front of goal, league two standard (at best) elsewhere.

Re: Anyone care?
Not a good result...
Utd parked the bus....City were a yard short today and had an off day.
First goal.. would Ederson have gifted the goal? No argument about United's 2nd goal.

Re: Anyone care?
No friend of ManUre but delighted that 115FC lost.
One of the secrets of Citeh’s success is that because they’re such a non-entity of a club they don’t arouse any strong feelings. Even the Red half of Manchester spent years pitying them for season after season spent playing Gillingham and the like, punctuated with the occasional season of thrashings in the top flight.
Roll on the relegation, points deductions and title stripping I say. Then we can get back to a proper league where merely outstanding teams can win it.

Hmm, I think Utd countered the City "tippy-tappy, keep possession until there's an opening" style well. City were vulnerable to the quick break and the well placed long ball. As a neutral, I'd say Utd were good for their win.

Re: Anyone care?
So the underdogs had their day.
My crossed fingers did the trick. City played well at times and had chances not taken. Their goal should have probably been saved.
United played great on the counter at times and a goal disallowed for offside. I didn't see a replay or var so maybe I missed the obvious but shortly after a second goal came anyway which was very easy on the eye.
Still it's silverware on the table after a poor season. OK lots of injuries to key personnel and accumulated in defence. Papers full of stories about the gaffer. I'd like to see him after a less injury prone season and a handful of new recruits. Still if a new manager wins the league that point will be mute.

The Twitter account "Alternative MUFC" has done a mashup video of the 2024 FA Cup Final. Link below:
If you're a Manchester United fan it's a work of art. If you're a member of the ABU nation, particularly if you're from Stockport, then look away now.
Not worksafe, due to the language. About 13.5 minutes long.

2-1 and 0-115
