A horse, a horse...

On another board:

As I had envisaged my 'nag' has also been entered for this race - which this year is before the Aintree GN. It is Irish trained so may be more likely to go for the Irish GN. Will post advice soonest!

I'm eagerly awaiting an update on the name of the horse from T7.

GN not until 14 April - so hold your horses there Gaggsy. As mentioned, many of the horses entered for the GN are also entered for the Irish GN 2 weeks earlier - including my initial 'pick'. The danger will be that the connections will prefer to go for the earlier race and we end up losing our money with a non runner. However, there are 2/3 bookies offering non runner no bet (NRNB) - however they tend to offer lower odds.

At the moment I am concentrating on Cheltenham (only 12 days away) - where the NRNB concession is coupled with a best odds offer - again with a few bookies. I am particularly interested in one horse that is currently around 5/1 - 6/1. Almost certainly this nag will be about 3/1 on the day - offering outstanding arbitrage opportunity.

I will report back in next few days.

My best bet at Cheltenham is in the 4:10 Cheltenham 14 March 2018 Glenfarclas Chase

Josies Orders - won this race 2 years ago -injured last year hence did not run - also has won 3 times at Cheltenham - never fallen there!

Unibet (ex Stan James) is offering 6/1 NRNB - likely to be around 4/1 on the day.

If you invest with another bookie - make sure that you get NRNB.

GN info to follow in due course

Bear in mind that Nina Carberry will not be riding it this time around - and I'm told she is an expert on the cross country race.

My racing aficionado pal thinks it's still a good bet, although he's putting his money on Tiger Roll!

Not sure why you are stating that NC will not ride JO. She did indeed take a break from riding as a result of a pregnancy - however she has been back riding in Ireland for several months and has ridden quite a few winners.

JO has been ridden by Mark Walsh recently - JP (and Frank Berry) will decide with EB who will be the rider.
