Afghanistan lose twenty wickets in a day to lose their first ever test, against India by an innings and 262 runs - in two days play in total.

India scored 347/6 on day 1, and were bowled out for another 127 runs more on day 2,

Afghanistan were then dismissed for 109 and 103, in a total of 66.3 overs for both innings. There were ten double figure scores combined for Afghanistan.

I just hope the Afghans don't give up. I think their tortured country needs all the support it can get.

Their ODI side does well. Test cricket ("red ball cricket") is another entirely different game though. Somebody made the suggestion yesterday that a second tier of test cricket may be a better introduction - Afghanistan, Ireland, Scotland, Ziimbabwe, Bangladesh - providing a higher level of match otherwise available to them whilst not facing died in the wool fully professional major test playing nations. And England.

I appreciate that suggestion cold be construed as patronising.
