What a terrific weekend for Alonso and the Aston Martin team, those two overtaking manoeuvres were sheer world champion calibre. Who would have thought the team could achieve that, both cars in the top six.

And poor old Ocon, what was happening at Alpine?

'Win on Sunday, sell on Monday ', an old adage in motor racing, AML shares up 15% this morning, and after a very good performance last week, but still a long way to go before long term investors see some profit.

Not all about Alonso at AM - look how well Lance Stroll did.

I see they're trying out a short sprint race today on a city circuit. Going by the bikes these short races are brain out carnage....but bikes dont race on city circuits or even narrow zero run off city circuits.

I'd be surprised if they complete a lap never mind the race before they're under a safety car while a crane lifts wreckage off the track.

Have you not watched the isle of Man TT? They race through Douglas and Ramsey streets, also several road circuits in Northern Ireland have no run-off areas.

As for the sprint race, more whining and whingeing from the adolescent Dutch boy, he really needs to grow up.

Hells bells guys, with all this enthusiasm I'm going to have to pay for Sky Sports aren't I?

My badness I know

I wouldn't get near our TV to make it worth it

I meant the bike equivalent of F1. I guess the closest to yesterdays F1 in the whole bike racing world would be Macau.

Emilia-Romagna F1 race at Imola called off, excess of water all around.
I've never known a GP cancelled at two days notice before.

Can you imagine the media and driver objection-fest if the race went ahead under such waterlogged conditions?!

The Sky commentary has disappeared and seems to have been replaced by an annoying background whining/shrieking sound.

Let's hope its a permanent change

I've only just realised that Christian Horner (him of Red Bull F1) is married to Ginger Spice (her of Spice Girls fame).

Oooooh.

Thanks for the warning.

Although as the BBbloodyC had it as a live update on their home page I'd already seen it when I went to check the weather.

Never mind. MotoGP next weekend!

Or the Ducati Cup as it's now known. With occasional cameos from aprillia and KTM. Still, a dozen potential race winners?
