I remember him here in '79 playing in test series against England. Also Venkat I guess was one of the others. Who were the other 2?

The team that I can recall would probably have had Bedi, Prasanna and Chandrasekhar as the spinners. Likely Dev and Ghavri as the quicks.

Mind you, Ghavri wasn't that quick (and Chandrasekhar was - a fast leggy).

Yes, the quartet I had in mind was Bedi, Prasanna, Venkat and Chandrasekhar. Not that all 4 played in the same match very often!

Should have remembered Chandrasekhar, but completely blank on Prasanna.

I remember one of the tests Botham got a 130/140, which took him just short of his 1000 runs in test cricket, which was probably a big deal as he'd already got 100 wickets. I think he got there in the next test.

Many years later I was at Lords the day Kapil hit 4 6's in the last 4 balls of the over to avoid the follow-on in the Gooch 333 test!

You would less likely have had Prasanna and Venkat in the same team (as they were the same type of bowler) which is maybe why you can't remember Prasanna and my memory of Venkat is limited - probably down to specific series we watched. The quartet is mentioned and linked to in the above article.
