Quick recommendations of good places to eat in Brighton
Hi all
A colleague and her other half are going to Brighton for the day on Sunday and then on to Crawley for a few days. Is there anyone here who can give me a couple of recommendations of places to eat in Brighton on a Sunday and also anywhere half decent in Crawley as well. Many thanks in advance

Why not try looking on TripAdvisor? There's all types of cuisine and all price ranges.

Try the Gingerman Restaurant, 21a Norfolk Square, Brighton.
We tend to go there for lunch when we visit our daughter in Brighton.
Haven't ever been disappointed.
( No connection to the restaurant!)

The Regency on the sea front is good for fish. My wife visited it last year with friends. Very popular.

I don't often eat in Brighton, but there are a lot of places at the Marina. Preston Street used to have a number of decent spots.
I used to work in Crawley, but I only go to the dentist these days. There used to be a good place in the High Street and a few pubs offering reasonable food. If they have a car, the Half Moon at Warninglid is worth a visit.

Is that any relation of the Ginger Pig in Hove? Having heard good things about it, I was very disappointed, though the oldies (born 1920s and 30s) seem to like it.

The Our other restaurants tab http://gingermanrestaurant.com/ says yes, plus Hassocks and Kemptown.

Don't try to get to the Ginger Fox via Hassocks Station. For public transport the 17 bus to Horsham passes by along the A281, or the 100 from Burgess Hill to Horsham via Pulborough.

Riddle and Finns, great seafood, two locations one on the seafront one in the Lanes, I've eaten in the Seafront one and it was very good but not cheap.
Food for Friends in the Lanes, vegatarian but excellent food in you don't require meat, ditto the Hope and Ruin, an eclectic craft bar/vegan eatery.

Seconded. We ate there last year, and I had a superb Dover sole. I've still got the receipt, and at £29.50 it wasn't cheap, but my dining companion had sea bream (better than bass in my opinion) which was only £18.50 for a good portion.
This was the seafront one, called Riddle & Finns On the Beach. We sat upstairs with a great view out over the beach, and it was a jolly nice place to be on a summer's afternoon.
