The Golden Triangle in Cheshire!

The Golden Triangle in Cheshire, which comprises towns including Knutsford , Alderley Edge, Wilmslow and Prestbury, has also long been the most desired neighbourhood for local footballers.

The average house price in Mere, Cheshire was approaching £2 million according to Zoopla, and in the midst of this Tory heartland the Home Office has set up a luxury hotel for illegal immigrants:

Are The Conservative hell bent on upsetting their supporters and losing the next election?

I used to go there sometimes on business. It is a beautiful part of the country, but a hotel for illegal immigrants in the Tory heartland - I just can't stop laughing.

Just when you think that things can't get any worse for the Conservatives they go and do something like this!

are they really "illegal" or just "asylum seekers" ?

there is a distinction of course.

Probably, the answer depends greatly on who you ask.

i'm sure.

A daily mail reader, or somebody who bothers to make the distinction for example.

Some psephology types are talking about the Cheshire seats providing the big "not in a million years" upsets of the next election. I could see Eddisbury (Winsford & Tarporley) going, maybe Congleton - but Tatton (Knutsford and surrounds which includes this, formerly of Neil Hamilton, Martin Bell and George Osborne fame) would be really major.

The stupidity of putting illegal immigrants into the heartland of Tory Cheshire amazes me. Are the Tories hell bent on political suicide?

It’s almost as funny as this one from Farage a couple of years ago:

Nigel Farage, the leader of the Brexit Party, revealed on Twitter that migrants had been put up in a hotel in the village of Rivenhall, Essex. He posted a video of himself visiting the hotel. “Home secretary Priti Patel has been most critical of the crisis in the Channel. So why is her local hotel in Witham housing illegal migrants? She is taking her constituents and all of us for a ride.”

The Home Office decided that this was a ‘mistake’ and moved them on quickly

I can’t work out of it’s down to arrogance or stupidity or some combination of both. It's probably also desperation to find accommodation as some days over 1,000 arrive from war torn France :)

Here in Wales it's been announced that the Hilton Garden Inn in Snowdonia has been block booked for asylum seekers or whatever name you choose to call them. This is a 4* hotel but it really is in the middle of nowhere. Local opinion is that they should have block booked Butlin's Holiday Camp at Pwllheli at least ther's a bit of life there.
