Yeah, Wakefield! I want to go see the Hepworth Wakefield and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park (which is about 30-45m south by bus), and was wondering if anyone here had visited or knew the town and area and had suggestions for other things to see/do (besides "go into Leeds"!).
Stuff accessible by public transport only please. Recommendations for hotels, pubs, restaurants, etc also welcome ... which I suppose should include where to get a good rhubarb crumble!

Re: Wakefield
We have stayed several times at the Premier Inn on the west side and it has an adjacent pub in the Vintage Inns group. It is on the Denby Dale road which passes near Bretton West. I don't know if there is a direct bus, but in years gone past County Motors service from Huddersfield to Barnsley made a connection there with services heading for Denby Dale and points west.
