How does Arezzo area compare to Chianti?

We have visited the Chianti part of Tuscany before and like the rolling hills, vineyards, etc. We've left it late to book great self-catering for this summer, but have seen somewhere nice 6km from Arezzo. What is the Arezzo area like compared to Chianti? Arezzo and many of the towns look really interesting. Loads of culcha and histree
