We'll be heading back north on our driving trip to Italy shortly, heading up beside Lake Garda towards Innsbruck. Is this route all motorway or major roads? Are there any single lane tunnels like the Gotthard where there are queuing systems beforehand?
Thanks

Looks like it is motorway, but still with queues.

Re: Is the Brenner pass route all motorway?
We've just done the drive from Easy side of Lake Garda up to Innsbruck via the Brenner Pass. It was indeed motorway all the way and a pretty easy and stunning drive. No traffic problems. Left about 11.45 and arrived at about 3.15 with a stop.
