The Lemon Fool

It looks as if I'll be in Algier in the 2nd week of September running a workshop. My wife is interested in accompanying me, as a tourist, and I was wondering if anyone had any experience of being in Algier, as a tourist. She would on her own during the day and we're obviously interested in issues such as safety, a women on her own etc.

Any advice or thoughts would be appreciated.
