Google Chrome now has a built-in ad blocker, designed to get rid of the ads that are intrusive or otherwise annoying, but allow ads from sites that follow specific guidelines. If you’re not into the idea of letting your browser control the ads you see, however, you can disable it pretty easily.

uBlock origin (ad blocker) and Ghostery (tracking blocker) work with all the major browsers, I have them installed on Chrome, Edge and FF.

The article says "Ad blocking is only available in Chrome 64 and above, so if you aren’t seeing this feature, make sure your browser is up to date.".

Well I have 64.0.3282.167 which appears to be the latest version, and I see no sign of this at all.

Also, it appears that it is limited to "annoying or intrusive ads" and auto-playing videos:

I'll stick with Ublock Origin for the moment

I've just turned Ublock origin/Extra and Ghostery extensions off to see if that bought the Chrome built in adblocker option up, but no difference.
I'm on the latest Chrome version too.

I'll be sticking with the extensions, but if there are any conflicts when the native (partial) blocker eventually appears, I'll turn it off...

I use Adblock Plus with Chrome and it is working very well.
