Which Website Hosting and Framework?

I need to refresh a basic website for a small management consultancy and was wondering what hosts and frameworks others would recommend?

It's currently a basic WordPress template hosted by 1and1 for an over the top price. I'm not looking for a bespoke/professional site - just something functional that I can easily hack. Is an updated responsive WordPress template still the way to go and hosted elsewhere?

Efficient and in the rare event of a problem, support was rapid.

TSOHOST and VIDAHOST (another good provider and the one I use) as all part of Paragon Internet, and the two merged operations on 13th May.
