Of course Chrome has its own similar protection built in and I've left it switched on so far, but I'll have to keep an eye out for any conflicts or performance issues.

My reading of it is that WDBP merely notifies a user rather than doing anything more pro-active so conflicts would probably be less likely than if it intervened rather more.

As I use a variety of browsers for various purposes I tend to avoid browser-specific (rather than system-wide) "protection" of any sort and, as it happens, have never been much of a fan of using browser extensions from sundry third-parties when there are alternative approaches that I might prefer. Horses for courses, though.

I freely admit I'm a bit of an extension junkie with Chrome browser, and I'm aware of the security/privacy implications that brings with it, but try and mitigate it elsewhere in the chain.

Flags is quite good for finding hidden features that might be of use long before they get introduced as stock options in an update, or to avoid a third party extension. I found 'reader mode' in Android that way years before it became incorporated into stock Chrome browser.
