Re: syncing Ipad to laptop
iPad is Apple and therefore uses iOS as its operating system. Are you sure it is an iPad?

Re: syncing Ipad to laptop
It sounds like you have an Android 'tablet'.
If you want to sync the tablet and PC via the Chrome browsers you need to be logged in to your Google account and in Chrome browsers 'settings' (3 dots top right corner) you'll see 'sync' as the second option down. Click on the little arrow to the right and it will expand all the individual options.
If you don't want full sync tick/untick as necessary. You can choose to just sync bookmarks if you want.
Beware that 'full sync' will include any passwords that you save via Chrome browser, so it can be handy, but personally I'd avoid any sensitive passwords being saved like banking et al if you wanted to use the password facility. You can always 'unsave' individual passwords via settings and they can be added to a list of 'Never Saved' for future reference.
(That never saved list appears at the bottom of the password list).
Both the tablet and the PC would need to be logged in to the same Google account via Chrome browser for the sync between the two to work.
If you want to maintain some general anonymity but still have the sync facility you are best using a different browser on the PC and tablet for the majority of your browsing and only use Chrome when you need the benefits of logged in synced activity.
I use the Firefox Focus browser app. on my Android phone as that is fast, blocks ads, doesn't save any passwords and deletes everything on exit, like cookies, history et al. Available in the Google Play store app on your tablet...https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... illa.focus
And Firefox desktop browser for your Windows PC would be a good 'anonymous' choice there too.

Re: syncing Ipad to laptop
many thanks
I have tried a number of times over past couple days and it just doesn't want to co operate
so I will stick with safari
I only really use the Ipad when away on holidays or trips so its no big deal
I can write down the handful of passwords I might need
( I don't do banking from beach side bars anyway so no probs)
thanks again anyway
