Put on the (hot) spot
Reading Clariman's thread: viewtopic.php?f=39&t=40441 regarding his use of a public Wifi hotspot reminded me of an incident that happened to me the other day.
I was travelling by bus that day when the youth in the adjacent seat asked me if he could use my phone as a Wifi hotspot for his phone. I guess he was low on data.
Fortunately I was able to decline because I was getting off at the next stop, otherwise I would have had to consider allowing it, or provide a good reason why I shouldn't.
What does the panel think?

I'm not sure that I'd be comfortable that I wouldn't be held responsible for whatever he was doing. After all ANY tracking or data analysis would lead to me rather than to him, whoever he was.

Coming out of the blue, no, I'd make my excuses.
Coming in a context that might merit it, maybe.

For the benefit of the voters who clicked the button: 'What is a hotspot?', I've found this article which explains things, together with some associated information.

The answer to question 1 after the article provides a brief yet concise explanation.

Can't speak for the OP, but I'm usually reading, or listening to the wireless on my phone (with headset), or chatting with fellow-passengers.

I simply like to look out the window at whatever there is to see. The front seats on the upper deck are my favourite, if I can get them.

Getting from home to the railway station at a fifth of the price of a taxi, or a sixth of the cost of one day's parking.

As are childish insults, but at least some of us are still young at heart.

Trust me it wasn't an insult!
By far the best part of the bus - even if you don't have plastic animals (we'd get off the bus leaving Embra zoo if we couldn't get that seat first time - extra brilliant because of the trees that scraped the top)

Yeah. It's so irritating having to kick those 4 year olds downstairs, every time...

Returning home from a drinking session.
Turns out that driving home after a few bevvies is not encouraged these days.

Happy Days with the grandchildren - yes the excitement of the tree branches coming towards us. We journeyed a few miles in the bus to a tearoom, had a snack , and returned. But I fear the grandchildren are now past this phase. Maybe we personally should revert to a second childhood - and clamber up the stairs again by ourselves. But possibly shrieking at the tree branches may be inadvisable .
