Three Pay-as-you-go balance

Three seem determined to make it difficult to find out what my current payg phone balance is. The 3 app on our two phones is telling me that I haven't checked the balance for nearly a year (not true) and that My3 isn't available in my area but will be fixed soon. It's been over a month now. It is possible to access Three's website on the phone but it's difficult as it's optimised for a pc screen. And that website tells me that the balance shown may not be correct.
If I try to find out phone balances on a laptop, that doesn't work as I have a 3 mifi router and web access to my account there defaults to telling me all about that device and I can't break out of that into the phone account.
Is it only me? Is the app working for anyone out there?
I'm rapidly falling out of love with 3, if only they weren't so cheap. In both senses.

Have you tried just dialling 444?

Have you tried re-installing the app?

Works fine for me but I have had issues with it in the past.

Have you definitely registered online for the phone accounts rather than just the MiFi device?

I can confirm that I experienced that same behaviour and didn't find a work-around.

Cheers!

Three's app is about the worst around. It can't do the simplest task, constantly asks for reviews, and ignores my suggestions that they should sack the development team and start again.

I only use them because, as you say, its cheap for low usage

Are you connecting the 3 app using the phone data signal rather than wifi?
That can be an issue apparently, for security it has to over the 3 network.

Thanks for the responses
Stompa - I hadn't tried 444, didn't know about it. Works a treat, Thank you
Infrasonic - Yes I turn off wifi before using the phone app. And both phones are registered through 3 app. I'll try a reinstall.
John B and John E, thanks for the reassurance that it isn't only me.
I will struggle on and keep on filling in the questionaires with what they obviously don't want to hear.

Oh dear. I went to uninstall the app and noticed it had been updated and improved mid-December. Guess when it stopped showing my balance?
Might not be worth re-installing after all. But there is an email address for the developer on the Playstore page. I'll drop him a line, see if it does any good.

Uninstall, clear your cache, reboot the phone. Then re-install and see if it's any better. That December update is running great on my Nexus 5 Android 6.0.1. I did a factory reset on it a few weeks ago, all previous issues melted away from that point on.

infrasonic - There is a cache associated with the app. I cleared that then uninstalled the app, restarted and reinstalled the app. No improvement, in fact the app doesn't seem to have completely finished installing itself due to a communication error. Is there another cache that I should be clearing after uninstalling the app? The one I cleared is only available when the app is installed.

Settings/storage and USB/cached data (will clear the whole cache for all apps).

I've given up for now and will wait for another update to sort things out. At the moment My3 is unavailable on the internet as it is being worked on. Allegedly.

Thank you very much for the heads-up Infrasonic. I've reinstalled on my huawei P9 and hooray it works.
Mrs W's Moto G not so good. Still fails, telling me that it's probably due to maintenance in my area and will be fixed soon. So only one and a half cheers so far

Works fine for me, fully functional for at least the last six months.
