Letters printed from iPad
Bit of research on behalf of my partner.
She’s looking for a program (app?) to produce letters that can be printed from the iPad.
These would normally be single sided sheets and would have her address, etc in the form of a template.
I suppose we are looking for a word processing program (app?).
Would also hope to save the letters on the iPad, although this is not essential.
Any thoughts, please?

Re: Letters printed from iPad
I have Microsoft Word for iPad (download from App Store) - it is good for basic letter writing and letters can be saved if you make a point of not forgetting to do this. Other tasks can be tackled - Christmas address lists etc. It might be worth trying out.

As well as a word processor app (it will save to your ipad), you will need a driver app for your make and model of printer.

Pages is the native Apple wordprocessor - not the best but free, so should do the job for simple documents - it has templates for letters etc.

Two potential problems
1) How old is your iPad, my iPad2 is too old to be updated to match my iPhone, which is unsuitable for large text documents
2) my HP wireless printer needs the paper track being cleaned regularly as paper dust makes it slippery. I use HP paper.

But what about your printer? Does it support Apple Airprint? If not, you will probably have problems getting the iPad to talk to the printer

Google Cloud Print works from Google Docs on iPad.
Many printers have Google Cloud Print built-in, and if yours does not, any PC on the same network, and with a printer attached can be used as a connection to the printer. It’s easy to set up.
