Installation of sandbox...
I have very recently bought a new Dell PC, an Inspiron 3670.
The PC came with W10, has the Mc Afee suite of security programs and Windows Defender.
I successfully loaded various other software, including Malwarebytes (Premium) and the latest free edition of Ccleaner.
I have used Sandboxie for many, many years on various computers and like driving a car when not wearing a seat belt, I feel very uncomfortable when not using it.
When I try to install Sandbox, I get the following error message…
Sandboxie can’t run on Windows.
This app may impact pc security or performance. Check for an updated app that runs on this version of Windows.
The version is 5.26 which is supposedly latest suitable for W10.
My best guess is that one or other of the security programs is interfering with the loading of Sandbox. I am loath to start deleting software before I know whether it can be the cause of the problem.
Any assistance would be gratefully received!

Re: Installation of sandbox...
I have not used Sandboxie, and may have misunderstood but it seems possible that you could have more than one antivirus activated at the same time. That can certainly result in much sucking of teeth and “funny things“ happening though not necessarily the sandbox thing.

As there have been no other suggestions on the board, I will live dangerously and delete the McAfee suite of security programs to see if that helps...
Thanks !

Problem solved!
I loaded the latest beta version of Sandboxie and it works perfectly.
So It wasn't the McAfee suite which I anyway deleted...

Jolly good.
Though the problems resulting from having more than one antivirus active at the same time have caused much wailing and gnashing of teeth over the years, both here and the equivalent board at The Motley Fool.

Should have bought an discounted HP Business PC (e.g. HP 800 series) - probably no more expensive, better quality and better warranty.

Over the years, I had a couple of HP PC s and both of them had problems on delivery and through out their lifetime.
I've also had more than a few Dell PC's and laptops and have always been very pleased with them.
It may still be a little early to say, but apart from the problem I had installing Sandbox, (which was fixed) I've had no problems with my new Dell PC and am pleased with it.
Ye pays ye money, ye takes ye choice!
Have a good weekend!

Sorry, I have no idea. They were both company machines, though one ended up in my home eventually...
