Redirect from LF
Using an iPhone, and looking at LF on Safari, and I keep getting redirected to something called loompasplace with pop ups telling me I have won some prize. The back button doesn’t take me back to LF.
I reluctantly cleared history and cookies, but it still does it though sometimes not immediately.
It doesn’t happen on other websites, and if I tethered an iPad, it doesn’t seem to happen on that either (so far).
Any thoughts on how to stop it?

Re: Redirect from LF
Thanks. That would explain why it doesn’t always happen, and why no one else has remarked on it. Also why it didn’t occur when typing the post, as the header advertisement was not on that page.
Unfortunately I don’t remember what advertisement was on the page that redirected me, so I probably can’t provide enough information for LF webmaster to be able to home in on.

I use reader mode in Chrome browser on Android for websites with a load of javascript, ads/redirects et al.
Works well (as long as you don't need to be fully interactive with the site).
If you like to get most of your news on the web, then you've likely struggled with reading things on your iPhone or iPad, since ads and menus can clutter up the page. Reader View in Safari allows you to view web pages without all that clutter and you can even change the font, font size, and page color to better suit your reading habits and vision.

Re: Redirect from LF
It is becoming more common, just had a redirect from ConservativeHome! This on an old iPad so some solutions suggested are not available.

My wife has been suffering this using FF on her Ipad. She thinks she was on https://www.crosswordsolver.org Any solution would be welcome I'm sure.

If she is using FF then install uBlock Origin as a FF addin. That will safely stop the adverts.

Re: Redirect from LF
I don’t normally remember Reader View, though it is only available for some websites, and LF is not one of those.
Fortunately, the redirects that appeared last night and persisted this morning have not reappeared for some hours now, so I am hoping they are gone.

If they do reappear and purely out of interest, would print view stop them temporarily?:

Re: Redirect from LF
Unlike Reader View (which is not available on LF, the print view is an option, but as I recall, the initial pop up had to be dismissed (or the tab closed) before I was able to do anything else.
If I closed the tab and reopened it, the pop up would reappear with it, and if I dismissed the pop up it redirected, so print view would show the new page.

You can't install Add-ons as you can on a DT so I've purchased Wipr which is apparently 'simple and straight-forward' ! So far, so good.

You can because that was the first thing I did after installing FF on my phone.
Tap the 3 dots menu at the top right of FF and then select Addons. Once there select Brows Firefoxes Recommended Extensions and if uBlock Origins is not the top one use the search at the top of the screen.

You can on an Android phone but there is no such option on that menu on her iPad. There's Settings, Enable Night Mode, Hide Images, Tracking Protection,Your Library, Home, Logins & Passwords & Sign on to Sync !

What? Something that Android is better at than Apple? I don't believe it
Worth checking if she is on the latest version and having a rummage around in settings. At the very least there should be a block popups option.
