This morning my MS Outlook has stopped synching with my imap gmail accounts
Also I can no longer re-install the accounts

It'd be helpful if you could provide a bit more information as to what's happening, e.g. like whatever messages you get when trying to sync and/or trying to reinstall the accounts, etc. These "it doesn't work" kind of reports don't give folks a lot to go on.

The first and most obvious thing to check is that you can still log in to gmail through your browser.

If you can and if you are getting some kind of "password incorrect" error from outlook and if you have 2 step verification turned on on your gmail accounts, you might try getting new app passwords. https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/185833?hl=en

I just logged into my 3 Gmail accounts via webmail without issue, so that leans towards it being a Gmail/Outlook problem as per the previous post.

P.S. And I have no problems accessing my gmail accounts by IMAP with Thunderbird today.

It's ok now - I just had to reset a setting within gmail

Some Apps are less secure than others and so the security level may need reducing
