Anyway to restore a deleted .pst Outlook File

Hi,

Is there anyway to recover a deleted .pst outlook file? I've just deleted all my email, calendar, contacts etc lol. I thought this was backed up as I regularly drag my user folder and copy the files to a USB stick, but of course i've just discovered this file isn't inlcuded in what i back up.

I've had some success with using 'Recuva', from Piriform - the same people who make CCleaner....

There's a 'portable' version available, which means that you don't need to install it on your PC, which of course in itself could over-write important data that you're trying to recover -

You can put the portable Recuva files on an external USB stick, and run it from there from within your normal Windows.

Your best bet would be to not boot the Windows disk you're trying to recover the PST file from, and scan it as an external disk from another PC, but I appreciate this might not be practical, so 'best-endeavours' may have to do in cases like this...

To improve the chances of recovery, do not use the PC (or use it as little as possible) until you have recovered the files.

If Recuva doesn't help (or requires purchase to complete the recovery) then try the free open source KickAss Undelete.

It's not gone into the Recycle bin by any chance?

There wasn't much in it so i've re-created it as best i could. Slightly worrying how easy it was to delete though.

I've reviewed by backup process for future lol.

No it didn't goto recycle bin unfortunately.
